Hatirla Sevgili : Remember Darling

Hatırla Sevgili (English: Remember Darling) is a Turkish TV series which will soon be airing on URDU1.

It tells the story of  love between Yasemin (Beren Saat) and Ahmet (Cansel Elcin), two young people from opposing families, and the relationship between their relatives and friends in the political era starting at the end of the 1950's in Turkey. In the background, historical events are depicted, beginning with Prime Minister Adnan Menderes' 1959 plane crash survival followed by the 1960 military coup, the trial on Yassıada, the executions and other important incidents that generated the radical political polarization of Turkish society afterwards. Yasemin and Ahmet's fathers, Rıza and Şevket, who are childhood friends and neighbors, develop opposite political views as they grow up. Rıza becomes a member of the right wing Democratic Party and enters parliament while Şevket, a public prosecutor, is a follower of the leftist Republican People's Party. Riza's older daughter Yasemin falls in love with Şevket's son Ahmet, however, their families do not allow them to marry and force them to separate. Things become complicated when Yasemin discovers that she is carrying Ahmet's baby. Their mutual friend Necdet tries to help Yasemin by offering to marry her and pretending to be the father of the baby. The unconsummated marriage between Yasemin and Necdet forces Yasemin and Ahmet apart. During their separation, Necdet's act of kindness takes on a new role as he begins to fall in love with Yasemin. Her feelings for Necdet become complicated because her heart still belongs to Ahmet.Years later Yasemin and Ahmet meet by chance again on a train. Ahmet meets Ruya, Yasemin's daughter, and wishes she were his own daughter. Ahmet trys to reconcile with Yasemin when he discovers how both families intervened to split them up but Yasemin refuses. He suggests she runs away with him but she cannot betray Necdet after all he has done for her. So Ahmet carries on alone, later becoming engaged to Ayla and working as a teacher in the same university in which Yasemin is teaching Arts. At the end of the first season Ahmet discovers that he is the father of Yasemin's daughter Ruya, he feels betrayed and disappointed by Yasemin, and sues Yasemin and Necdet to get custody of his daughter. During the trial, many truths are discovered which attenuate Ahmet's anger. As the series proceeds various dramatic events take place, in Turkiye and in the lives of the characters. The political history of Turkey from 1971 to the mılıtary coup ın 1980 is portrayed, from the point of view of the two families, who eventually resolve their differences.
Hatırla Sevgili became one of the most popular and most controversial TV series in Turkey. It was criticized by many because of its non-objective approach and superficial coverage of some historical events, yet it led many people to question their country's modern history.Books about the historical periods portrayed and people mentioned in the series became bestsellers for at least two weeks after the episodes about them were aired. After 68 episodes, the final one was shown on June 6, 2008.

She has been wedded to Turkish pop star Kenan Dogulu on 29th of July this year.

Celebrities applaud her:

Kenan is not the only one who admire bride, it is everybody.

Türkan Şoray:
I like Beren Saat as I like Tuba Büyüküstün and NurgülYeşilçay. She works hard to act her role good and she become successful. Her private life is also extremely stable. She became a bride, got married, I wish happiness for her. I think she will be more successful in the future.

Hülya Avşar:
I like Beren Saat’s acting. She become popular after a competition like me. I liken her career to mine, actually when I look her, I see my youth.

Nebahat Çehre:
I had the opportunity to get to know her at Forbidden Love set, we worked together.  She can balance very well her private life and her work. She is hardworking, patient and she loves acting. From now on, she also has the responsibility of a family. In my opinion, she will be successful in her family life too.

Ayşe Arman:
When you meet her, you can understand that beauty is not her precedence. There is a difference in that girl. Yes she is so smart, so bright, but not only these. There is an interesting sense of freedom, variability, honesty, courage and foolhardy in her. I think Beren Saat’s difference is that.

Selda Alkor:
They want me to compare Beren Saat and Tuba Büyüküstün’s acting to Türkan Şoray and Hülya Koçyiğit’s. And I said that I cannot see a star light them yet. After a while this idea has changed. Beren grossly misled me. She's a great star.

Nilgün Belgün:
Beren was my student at a competition, Stars of Turkey. Although teaching something is too hard in a very short time but she was very successful . Beren is always willing and ambitious about the acting. and this brings success for her. I find her so successful.

Seyfi Dursunoğlu:
I do not know is there anyone who has an extremely beautiful face and good acting like Beren Saat. At first, she just could not get used to high-heeled shoes. An amazing face. Eyes, mouth… I had seen her first time at Stars of Turkey and I said that this girl is wonderful.

Ali PoyrazoğluI:
Ali was master at Stars of Turkey and his favorite student was Beren Saat. He said : follow that girl, she is the only one who might be a star after this competition at those days. No one believe me. She was very hardworking. Her successes are not coincidence definitely.

Happy Friendship Day!

Hello, y'all amazing people there. You must have come to know that today we're celebrating Friendship day worldwide.
Let's talk about its origin first.
Friendship day was originally founded by Hallmark in 1919. It was planned to be a day for individuals to commend their companionship by sending one another cards, however by 1940 the market had become scarce, and inevitably it ceased to exist totally. In any case, in 1998 Winnie the Pooh was named the world's Ambassador of Friendship at the United Nations , and in April 2011 the United Nations formally perceived 30th July as International Friendship Day; albeit most nations celebrate on the main Sunday of August! So as needs be it is being commended overall today.

According to the Friendship Day declaration, we are invited to “observe this day in a proper manner, in accordance with the culture and other appropriate customs of their local, national and regional communities, including through education and public awareness-raising activities”.

Tribute to a Friend:

Friendship Day is celebrated in to tribute our friends who make our lives so special and give a meaningful direction to our lives. On this day people must pay sincerest gratitude to friends, both old and new, and appreciate the importance of them in their lives.

Significance of Friends:
True friendship is about putting your feet up and knowing that someone is there to bail you out when the world might walk out on you. Besides, as a support system in today's hectic world, friends are the most reliable sources for social, intellectual and creative stimulation.

In the present fast pace age of nuclear families where people have little time to spend with each other, friends have become indispensable. Then there are times when we find it tough to discuss matters with our family members or even with our spouse, it is on occasions such as these that friends come to our support. They guide us and become our pillar of strength when we need them most. And the best part is we don't really need to put things in words when communicating issues to our best friends. Most often friends understand us, just by looking at us or hearing our voice. This heart-to-heart bonding is what makes friendship so exclusive, setting it apart from all other relationships.

Significance of Expressing Love to Friends:
Howsoever strong a relationship maybe, it constantly needs to be nurtured with love and care. We must therefore never lose an opportunity to express our feelings and the warmth we may be experiencing for our friends. We may do this by sending flowers, a heartfelt card or a thoughtful gift. We may also do this by being together with a friend in times of joy or sorrow. The idea is to keep expressing our unconditional love and support to our dearest friend let the friendship evolve.

Significance of Friendship Day:
At times we get so busy in our daily lives that we start taking our friends for granted. It is the annual celebration of Friendship Day that reminds us that we must cherish the presence of friends in our lives and acknowledge with love the important role they play in our lives. One must therefore celebrate friendship on Friendship Day to the fullest and let their friendship soar to newer heights.
