Request To Onair Bir Bulut Oslam

In a border village, Güzelyurt, where life flows calmly, in the town's largest and most magnificent mansion, the unrequited sick and passionate love which is observed is freezing the blood of those who witness it...

Dr. Serdar Batur, who for ten years worked in the health programs of the UN in the hot spots of the world, comes to Güzelyurt, a border village that is located in a mined area. Narin, a fragile girl, who experienced a lot of oppression because of Mustafa's diseased love, with resignation to her faith, she would talk to the clouds and her Lord and pray. Serdar and his mother find out about the tragedy Narin is facing and will endeavor to save her from the torture she is experiencing, however Mustafa will not let the girl he loves with a sick passion go, and he will burn everywhere with the hell fire.

Synopsis

This is the story of Mustafa (Engin Akyürek) and Narin (Melisa Sözen), who are first cousins, binded together in marriage in childhood according to traditional and religious laws. Narin is underage hence according to Turkish law they are not recognized as husband and wife officially, much to the dismay of Mustafa who refuses to accept this fact.

Mustafa is literally "madly" in love with Narin. But narin does not love him and does not accept him as husband, blaming him for her mothers paralysis, and also because Mustafa isn't a normal person. He suffers from epilepsy and has occasional attacks when his temper rages out of control. People assume hes not stable mentally due to this reason. He chains Narin to himself, scared that she would leave him due to his madness.

Maybe Mustafa is not mad, but unrequited love defnitely has made him so, he's very short tempered, impulsive and obsessive especially when is comes to narin. He is spoiled by the wealth and reputation of his family, thus does not take as much responsibility for his actions, which end up hurting him more than those he wants to hurt.

He's so madly in love with her, that he is willing to die, and end her life along with his even, but only if they can not be together. He truly believes that if not in this world then in hereafter they will be together as one.

Narin doesn't mind death either, she refuses to accept the physical and mental torture she bears at the hands of Mustafa and willingly goes to the minefield everyday hoping she will die and be rid of mustafa. So cold and distant she is to his love that Mustafa has a pet horse named narin whom he confides in, perceiving it to be an extention of Narin's soul, assuming when he talks to the pet horse, Narin's soul can hear his Plea to accept him.

Mustafa's parents decide to get him married to another girl named Asiye so that he can start a family with her and be so involved in his new life, that he forgets narin, but mustafa does not accept his new wife either. To him Narin is his one and only wife.

Dr Serdar and his family meanwhile move to Guzelyurt and somehow get involved in Mustafa and narin's marriage. The actions of Dr.Serdar's family start to seperate Narin from Mustafa, giving Narin freedom from Mustafa, but Mustafa as a result clings even tighter to narin and gradually delves deeper into his madness, losing all sense of reality, living in a warped world where he is Narin's and Narin is his, forever and for eternity.

Mustafa does not wish to loose her to anyone else. When faced with the reality of loosing her forever he shoots his wife Narin in a moment of compulsive, obsessive misery, wrongly believiing this could ease the soul crushing pain of his potential loss.

All evidence of the crime is pointed towards him. The life and fate of both Mustafa and Narin lies in the hands of Dr serdar and his family now, who are determined to releasing Narin from the obsessive grip of her husband Mustafa Bulut. However, unknowingly Doctor Serdar falls in love with Narin.

A tragic and heart crushing story of a love triangle set in the conservative and backward slow life of Mardin Turkey.

RTÜK decided to shorten the length of lovemaking scenes in Turkish TV series

The Turkish Cabinet has authorized the Supreme Board of Radio and Television (RTÜK) to limit the length of  lovemaking scenes in Turkish TV series, daily Hürriyet.

The Cabinet made the decision after approving RTÜK’s decision to fine a Turkish channel for airing a lovemaking scene between the leading characters of the soap opera Aşk-ı Memnu (Forbidden Love) that lasted five minutes and 30 seconds.

RTÜK fined the channel for the “hot” lovemaking scenes, describing them as “too long and immoral” and accusing them of failing to comply with the structure of the Turkish family.

“Aşk-ı Memnu” was adapted from the book of the same name by Turkish novelist Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil and featured actors Kivanç Tatlıtuğ(Behlül) and Beren Saat (Bihter) in the lead roles.

The show features the chain of events revolving around Adnan Bey (Selçuk Yöntem) and his family. Adnan Bey lives with his daughter and his deceased friend’s son Behlül (Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ), but their lives change when Firdevs Hanım and her daughters Peyker and Bither cross their path. Adnan Bey falls in love with Bihter and they get married, but their happiness is destroyed with the appearance of Behlül, who begins a forbidden affair with Bihter. The story ends with Bihter’s tragic suicide after her affair with Behlül is revealed.

RTUK picks and chooses among FCC (US) rules in regulating obscenity. FCC does not allow long lovemaking scenes on TV (airwaves), but allows more things for the Cable. RTUK generally picks the highest restriction FCC applies to Cable or TV programming. As far as the obscenity is concerned, Turkish TV and Cable look like the TV in US. However, the problem with RTUK is that it also regulates the paid Cable channels. Even if you want to pay for more relaxed programming, you are not allowed.

Therapy for rape victims with Turkish TV series

Turkish family doctor Hatice Yalçın, living in the U.S. state of Florida, provides therapy for rape victims by having them watch the Turkish TV series “Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?” (What is Fatmagül’s Fault?).

Yalçın’s purpose is to keep the women, between the ages of 19 and 32, from hating all men and plant the idea there are men in the world like the “Kerim” character in the series. Kerim, played by Engin Akyürek, is the main male character in the TV series. He is the husband of main female character, portrayed by Beren Saat, Fatmagül, who is a gang rape victim, and protects her.

When it was first aired, the series caused controversy among people claiming “it legitimates marriage to the rapist,” since Kerim was with the three rapists during the incident and did not prevent them from raping Fatmagül.

According to Yalçın, her patients feel better when they see Kerim. She works for a clinic which was established with the contributions of volunteers and focuses on the treatment of rape victims. She started doing this when her best friend’s daughter committed suicide after being raped. She has been working for the clinic for nine years and administering the “Fatmagül” therapy for 1.5 years.

The Kerim character has become a phenomenon among rape victims, who watch all the dialogues between Kerim and Fatmagül with Yalçın’s translation.

She said the real success was Akyürek, adding, “We want to host him at our clinic.” The rape victims describe Kerim as an ideal man who does not exist in real life.

Egyptian actress dreams of Turkish actor

According to Egyptian website al-Bashayer, the young single Egyptian singer and actress Menna Fadali has revealed her aching dream to marry Turkish star Engin Akyürek, otherwise known as Karim to Arab television audiences in the popular Turkish TV series “Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?” (What is Fatmagül’s Fault).

According to the website, Fadali said while she was not thinking of getting married any time soon, if she were to marry, the Turkish heartthrob would be her cup of tea. She dealt a blow to her male compatriot fans when she added provocatively that she would far rather marry someone Turkish than a fellow Egyptian.

In yet another installment of the love affair between Arabs and Turks, Fadali tried to explain her crush, “I really love the actor who plays the role of Karim on the Turkish series, I dream of him. I feel like he’s from out of this world.”

Famous TV star Beren Saat, dream woman for Arab men

The popularity of Turkish TV series is rising every day in Arabic-speaking countries, and Turkish actresses are often the main attraction in a series. Beren Saat, who plays the role of Bihter in “Aşk-ı Memnu” (Forbidden Love) and that of Fatmagül in “Fatmagül’ün suçu ne?” (What is Fatmagül’s fault?), is currently the most popular Turkish actress in the Arab world.

Beren Saat has come to represent a sort of dream woman for Arab men, said a recent article in Al Bawaba daily, based in Jordan. There are about 300 fan pages on Facebook dedicated to Saat, and approximately 800,000 people have “liked” those pages. Messages to Beren Saat on Facebook mainly consist of compliments and messages of admiration. According to the Al Bawaba article, Arab men say of Saat “she is like an angel,” and that their only dream is to find someone as “pure” as she is. They also hate the character Mustafa, Saat’s character’s fiancé on “Fatmagül’ün suçu ne?”, and post angry messages about the character on Facebook. Some say they want a daughter like Saat. Arab women, on the other hand, tend to prefer Buğra Gülsoy, another actor appearing in “Fatmagül’ün suçu ne?”, comparing him to Brad Pitt. (every next man is Brad Pitt for Arabs :/ )

Beren Saat is the Turkish person about whom the most articles are being written, according to the latest data released by the Media Tracking Center (MTM), with 4,472 articles in the media. Her popularity in the media stems mainly from her relationship with Kenan Doğulu, her boyfriend.

Doğulu is one of the most popular singers in Turkey and represented Turkey in Eurovision 2007 with his song “Shake it up Şekerim.” Doğulu and Saat have been together for a while, and their relationship is said to be very serious. Turkish dailies have written that Saat has met Doğulu’s family.

Actor Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ’s girlfriend Azra Akın was in second place on the MTM list. Akın’s popularity has risen since the couple made up last month and became the focus of marriage rumors. The rumors are still just rumors, though, and Tatlıtuğ has said: “If I were getting married tomorrow, I wouldn’t tell anyone.”

Turkish TV series are also encouraging women to undergo plastic surgery so that they can resemble Turkish actresses such as Beren Saat and Tuba Büyüküstün, according to doctors.

Dr. Zekeriya Kul, an expert in cosmetic and plastic surgery at the Dubai Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, said there was a recent and rapid increase in the interest toward plastic surgery in Arab countries.

“Formerly, our patients wanted full lips, protruding cheekbones, and very small noses as in the face anatomies of Lebanese singers Haifa Wehbe and Nancy Ajram. This phenomenon became so popular that it came to be called the ‘Lebanese singer look.’ However, in recent years, Arab women have begun to come here with photos of actresses such as Beren Saat and Tuba Büyüküstün. They wish to look like them through plastic surgery,” Kul said.

‘Turkish series introduced naturalness’

According to Kul, Arab women currently want to have a natural look. “Turkish TV series introduced the naturalness. For example, those who underwent nose remodeling operations in the past are not happy with their noses anymore; they want their tip-tilted noses to have a more natural shape. They also prefer to have more natural and thicker eyebrows just like the Turkish actresses, rather than having thin and curved ones. So, the ‘Turkish actress look’ has taken over the seat of the ‘Lebanon singer look,’” he said.

Middle East has its own Brad Pitt

Here i am giving you a short description of Kivianc Tatlitug fame in Arab, one of the famous newspaper write about him and that is as follows :')

Brad Pitt is now available as a Middle Eastern variant and is the latest rage amongst throngs of women in the Arab world. Admittedly, the actor is Turkish and his name has a different clang to it, but thanks to his blonde hair, blue eyes and romantic gestures, actor Kivanc Tatlitung has been dubbed "the Middle East's Brad Pitt" by Turkish media.

Turkish actor Kivanc Tatlitug has won over many hearts, his fame creating a wave of regional interest in his homeland. He has led the growing success of Turkish TV dramas across the region through his soap opera "Noor" and given a boost to his country's tourism industry in the process.

That success coincides with a rise in Turkey's profile in the Arab world since Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's outspoken condemnation at the Davos World Economic Forum of Israel's January offensive in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, which won him popular praise across the region.

Tatlitug attracts acclaim of a different kind on promotional visits to Arab countries.

"The reaction is unbelievable. I am faced with people screaming. There are people who cry with joy. Age is not important," said the 25-year-old, a former basketball player and male model who won the Best Model of the World contest in 2002.

The surge in the Arab world's interest in Turkish popular culture reflects cultural and religious similarities between the Arabs and their northern neighbour, a predominantly Muslim but secular country which is trying to join the European Union.

It also comes as Barack Obama plans to make Turkey the first Muslim country he visits as U.S. president to emphasize that "democracy and modernity and Islam can all coexist," his secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, said in Ankara last week.

Trade and business links between Turkey and the Arab world have flourished since Erdogan's AK Party, which has roots in political Islam, came to power in Ankara in 2002.

The series "Noor", aired by Saudi-owned MBC satellite television, focuses on the relationship between Mehmet -- whose name in the Arabic version is Mohannad (not Mohammad) -- and his wife Noor. Its final episode attracted nearly 85 million viewers across the Arab world, a record for Arab TV.

"Mehmet is blond and has blue eyes, yet I am a Muslim and we have a culture which is very close to that of the Middle East," Tatlitug told Reuters in an interview in Levent, an upmarket Istanbul neighbourhood.

"People felt a contrast between the outer appearance and the behaviour," said the actor, son of a patisserie owner from the Mediterranean city of Adana. "He is not somebody who goes out and indulges in roguish behaviour. He is a man who shows great respect, interest and love for his wife."

Tatlitug is building on the success of "Noor" in the Arab world with a new series "Mirna wa Khalil", in which he also plays the romantic lead, Halil.

But for me , i guess Kivianc is more heart throbbing and handsome than Bradpit :P apart from his physical beauty he is also good hearted , always kind and loving to his fans. From his acting to his expressions, attitude every thing is just perfect. The way he act is fabulous. From romance to love making, from flirt to playing, from fighting to comedy he is a perfect choice, for each and every scenario. He is handsome with lots of good qualities and for the reason he is my best actor.

Cagatay Ulusoy Explains His Ideal Girl ;)

Here I brought to you the interview conduct by Saba Tumer, about the girl whom Cagatay idealized for his partener. The host's name is Saba Tümer. I'll just say her name as Saba.

Saba : What are the qualities that you look for in a woman? Are you too picky? Hey I'm asking you!
Someone says : She's asking you, she's not asking Ilkay.

Cagatay: I was listening to them. Sorry!

Saba: Cagatay, I said "a woman" .

Saba : Which qualities of a woman would attract you to her?

Cagatay: Appearance is important, of course.

Saba: Why? Do you want her to be size 0? About her appearance what exactly?

Cagatay: I don't like a girl that is too skinny and too tall.

Saba: Listen girls! He doesn't like too skinny and too tall girls.

Cagatay: Yes. A little plump.

Saba: Is he describing me? Hahaha! I thought that's me!

Cagatay: This description fits a lot of people! LOL!

Saba: It describes every Turkish woman. I said that because I'm sitting close to you right now. If they write dating rumors about you and me, too, that would be too much for me! With a 20 year old boy! Hahahaa! But it's not a good thing, you know. There's 20 years age gap between you and me. No need for that now!

Cagatay: Yes .... uum ...

Saba: Ok. Short and plump.

Cagatay: Not too short. About 1. 70 cm. Not too thin.

Saba: 1.70 is short for you?

Cagatay: 1.70 is good next to my height.

Saba: It is?

Deniz Uğur: So it looks when you're looking from there!

Cagatay: Uum .. I don't want her to have colorful eyes. ( Turkish ppl call blue or green eyes "colorful" eyes)

Saba: No colorful eyes?

Cagatay: Yes. No offense to ppl with colorful eyes but... Colorful eyes are unattractive for me. That's a thing about me.

Saba: Ok. But these are eyes. They're given by God.

Cagatay: Of, course. When you think of it that way.

Saba: Aren't your eyes colorful?

Cagatay: No, they're not.

Saba: How are they not? They look like hazel to me, not brown. In fact, if you wore green, they'd look more greenish.

Cagatay: What I mean by colorful eyes is either blue or actual green eyes.
Saba: Ok.

Cagatay: Uuum .... brunette.

Saba: Ok, you've talked about appearance. Now, what about personality? For example, does her life before dating you matter to you?

Cagatay: No, her life before me doesn't concern me. There are things that people need to experience and if she experienced that before me, I can only respect that and not bother her about it. (real man words :D Yo! )

Saba: Are you a jealous person?

Cagatay: Depends on the situation. Yeah, I guess I can be a little jealous.

Saba: Of what, for example, if she wears revealing clothes?

Cagatay: No, I don't stop her from wearing what she wants. She can wear anything she wants when she's with me.

Saba: When she's with you?

Cagatay: Yes, when we go out together. But when she goes out on her own, I'd ask her to be careful. I wouldn't want her to wear too revealing clothes.

Saba: Every guy has these kind of thoughts, right?

Cagatay: Umm i guess yes

And the interview ends.

Turkish alphabet

Turkish alphabet

The Turkish alphabet is a Latin alphabet used for writing the Turkish language, consisting of 29 letters, seven of which (Ç, Ğ, I, İ, Ö, Ş, and Ü) have been modified from their Latin originals for the phonetic requirements of the language. This alphabet represents modern Turkish pronunciation with a high degree of accuracy and specificity. It is the current official alphabet and the latest in a series of distinct alphabets used in different eras. The invention of this alphabet and its adoption in the 20th century were cultural elements of the rise and victory of Turkish nationalism.

Letters

The letters of the Turkish alphabet are:
Capital letters
A B C Ç D E F G Ğ H I İ J K L M N O Ö P R S Ş T U Ü V Y Z
Lower case letters
a b c ç d e f g ğ h ı i j k l m n o ö p r s ş t u ü v y z
Of these 29 letters, 8 are vowels (A, E, I, İ, O, Ö, U, Ü); the 21 others are consonants.
The letters Q, W, and X of the ISO basic Latin alphabet do not occur in the Turkish alphabet, while dotted and dotless I are distinct letters in Turkish so that "i" does not become "I" when capitalized.
Turkish also uses a, i and u with the circumflex:
  • â for /aː/ and/or to indicate that the consonant before â is palatalized
  • î for /iː/ (no palatalization implied)
  • û for /uː/ and/or to indicate palatalization.

Names

The names of the vowel letters are the vowels themselves, while the names of the consonant letters are the consonant plus e. The one exception is ğ ("yumuşak ge"; i.e. "soft g"):

a, be, ce, çe, de, e, fe, ge, yumuşak ge, he, ı, i, je, ke, le, me, ne, o, ö, pe, re, se, şe, te, u, ü, ve, ye, ze

Sounds

Turkish orthography is highly regular and a word's pronunciation is always completely identified by its spelling. The following table presents the Turkish letters, the sounds they correspond to in International Phonetic Alphabet and how these can be approximated more or less by an English speaker.

  1. ^ Turkish has a front/back vowel harmony. Vowel harmony states that endings must change their vowels to agree with the root words. Back vowels: a /a/, ı /ɯ/, o /o/, u /u/. Front vowels: e /e/, i /i/, ö /ø/, ü /y/. Therefore, most grammatical suffixes come in front and back forms, e.g. Türkiye'de "in Turkey" but Almanya'da "in Germany". In vowel harmony /e/ is the opposite of /a/. For example kedi+ler /cedileɾ/ ( cats ); adamlar /adamɫar/ ( men ). /e/ can also be found in names without vowel harmony: Erdoğan ( a name ) /eɾdo‿an/.
  2.  ^ 1 – Something between /ɹ/ and /ɾ/ but more close to /ɾ/; a fricative r. In the beginning and at the end of a word, always this one occurs. 2 – /ɾ/, like Italian madre but less stressed and softer. 3 – Some people use rarely /ɹ/, the sound of an American or English r.
  3.  ^ 1 – Between vowels: ‿ or ʲ as sandhi for back vowels and front vowels respectively. That is Erdoğan /eɾdo‿an/ and değil /deʲil/. 2 – After a vowel: Lengthening of the preceding vowel. E.g. bağ /baː/. 3 – There is also a rare, dialectal occurrence of [ɰ].
